Why did you decide to study in the USA?
The United States offers much better opportunities to study while playing sports, and there are many job opportunities after graduation.
Why did you choose your university/college?
Accompanying [de l’Université St. Ambrose (SAU) à Davenport, Iowa ] Ideal for both academics and athletes. Small class sizes create a much closer campus community and the campus feels safe. The training at SAU is excellent with professors who know you by name and want to help you succeed.
Have you taken any classes outside your major that you enjoyed?
Some courses, especially my general technical courses. The introduction to film history was nice because this type of content doesn’t usually interest me. I also had to take a very fun and surprisingly challenging drawing class.
What difficulties did you face and how did you manage them?
Homesickness It is a problem that most international students will face at some point in their university career. I felt homesick after I suffered a serious injury while playing soccer and was unable to do my normal activities.
What is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite places on campus are the Health and Recreation Department and the St. Vincent Sports Complex. As a student-athlete, I spend a lot of time at both sites, and they are great facilities for all students.
What do you want to do after graduation?
I would like to obtain my master’s degree while working as a graduate assistant for the football program. Saint Ambrose It offers excellent options for a master’s degree, so I may stay at Davenport for another year or two.
What are your summer plans?
SAU does a great job of providing students who stay on campus during the summer with things to do. I work on campus during the summer serving international students and assisting with youth soccer summer camps at the University of South Australia.
Does your university/college have any fun events that you have attended or are looking forward to?
Saint Ambroise offers many fun events, mainly organized by students. There are events around every theme, with theater performances at the Galvin Fine Arts Center and a dance marathon raising money for charity.
Have you traveled to the United States? What are your favorite places or where do you want to go?
So far I have traveled to 15 states, with my favorite places being Hawaii, Nevada, California, and New York. Although the United States is a very big country, I am more interested in exploring the world than I am in the United States.
What is one of your best memories from your studies?
All the time I spent with my soccer team. Some of my favorite memories are meeting new people and making friends with them.

What would you say to students thinking about studying in the United States?
Do it. Study in the United States It is a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience that can help you become the person you want to be. Although it may seem intimidating, International Student Services is here to help, and once you settle in, you will have no problem making friends and having a good time.
